History. The congregation's roots began with the British conquest of Quebec at the Plains of Abraham in Under the leadership of Church of Scotland Chaplain Robert MacPherson and soldiers of the famous 78th Fraser Highlanders of James Wolfe's Army in A congregation evolved under his leadership, until his death in He was succeeded by another former Chaplain, George nation: Presbyterian. Mr. Earp entered upon his duties on the day appointed, and was, at his own desire, duly instituted as Rector of St. Andrew's Church on the 10th of May following, according to the form prescribed in the Prayer Book for the "Institution of Ministers," the Bishop of the Diocese officiating, and the sermon being preached by Rev. Dr. Seymour.

The church we are part of today organized in the early ’s when members of First St. Andrews Baptist Church started moving into the growing town and found the trek to their church difficult in the winter months.
The first minute book of our church records the organization of Second St. Andrews Baptist Church being January 4, St. Paul’s Church was opened nearby in Inas Montreal grew, St.
Andrew’s built a new church on Beaver Hall Hill (on the present site of a Bell Canada building). InSt. Paul’s Church also decided to move and they built on a site on Dorchester Boulevard, (now boulevard René Lévesque) near today’s Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

Paul’s United Church in Sudbury. Andrew’s is known for its rich and diverse music program led by Dr. Robert Hall. Rev. Dave Le Grand joined St. Andrew’s as full-time minister on October 1, after serving the congregation of Trinity United Church in Capreol for 12 years.
